App for phone, tablet and computer
Install DownFeeds
DownFeeds installs straight from the browser, without going through an app store: an icon on your home screen or desktop, a window of its own, push alerts and automatic updates.
You are already using DownFeeds as an installed app.
How to install
Instructions for every device are below: the one for yours is already open.
iPhone and iPad
- Open downfeeds.com in Safari; on recent versions of iOS, Chrome, Edge and Firefox work too.
- Tap Share, the square with the arrow pointing up (on some versions it is in the “…” menu).
- Scroll the list and choose “Add to Home Screen”.
- If the “Open as Web App” option appears, leave it on, then tap “Add”.
Android with Chrome
- Open downfeeds.com in Chrome.
- Tap “Install the app” above, or the ⋮ menu at the top right.
- Choose “Install app” or “Add to Home screen” and confirm.
- The DownFeeds icon appears on your home screen and in the app list.
Android with Samsung Internet, Edge or Firefox
- Open downfeeds.com in the browser you normally use.
- Open the browser menu (≡ or ⋮).
- Choose “Install”, “Add to Home screen”, or “Add page to” and then “Home screen”.
Computer with Chrome (Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook)
- Open downfeeds.com in Chrome.
- Click “Install the app” above, or the install icon on the right of the address bar (a monitor with an arrow).
- Or open the ⋮ menu, then “Cast, save and share” and “Install page as app”.
- DownFeeds appears in the Start menu, in Launchpad or among your applications, and opens in its own window.
Computer with Microsoft Edge
- Open downfeeds.com in Edge.
- Click “Install the app” above, or the “App available” icon in the address bar.
- Or open the “…” menu, then “Apps” and “Install this site as an app”.
Mac with Safari
- Open downfeeds.com in Safari (macOS Sonoma or later is required).
- From the File menu choose “Add to Dock”, or use the Share button and “Add to Dock”.
- Confirm the name and click “Add”: DownFeeds appears in the Dock and in the Applications folder.
Computer with Firefox
On computers, Firefox may not offer to install web apps. If you cannot find the option in its menu, open downfeeds.com in Chrome, Edge or Safari and follow the instructions above: your account and plan stay the same.
What changes with the app
- It opens full screen from the DownFeeds icon, without the address bar.
- Push alerts arrive even when the app is closed; on iPhone and iPad they only work once the app is installed.
- It updates itself: every new version arrives the first time you open it, with nothing to download.
- Monitors, incidents and settings stay on the server: the device only keeps graphics, fonts and the last pages you viewed, so you can look at them while offline.
- Same account and same plan: you sign in with the same credentials.
- DownFeeds is not on the App Store or Google Play: the web app is the complete service, always up to date.
Can't find the option to install?
- You are in an incognito or private window: installing is not available there.
- You opened the link inside another app (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Gmail…): open it in the browser with “Open in Chrome” or “Open in Safari”.
- The app is already installed: look for it among the apps on your device; in this case the browser offers “Open in app”.
- You recently declined the installation: for a while the browser will not offer it again on its own, but the option is still in its menu, as described above.
How to remove it
On a phone, press and hold the icon and choose “Remove” or “Uninstall”. On a computer, open the app, then the window menu (⋮ or “…”) and choose “Uninstall”; on a Mac, drag the app from the Dock or the Applications folder to the Trash.
